The Pros And Cons Of Gun Control Laws

On a thursday in Springtown, Texas, James Gerow, a home and gun owner awoke to a noise. He found a man with a dark hoodie in his house. Gerow grabbed his gun to protect himself and followed him to the man's truck in the driveway. Pointing his gun at the man, he convinced him to put down his keys. That man could have took Gerow’s property and left if Gerow didn't have a gun. The issue between gun control and gun rights is becoming a largely debated topic. Citizens are given the right to protect themselves, their family, and their property (“Gun Control Versus Gun Rights”). There are many incidents were citizens use firearms to protect themselves and others from dangerous threats. Criminals will get their hands on guns somehow, even illegally. (“9 Principle Pros and Cons of Gun Control”)For example, drugs are illegal but many people still get their hands on them somehow. Taking away guns would just take away law-abiding citizens but wouldn't do anything about the criminals. Because of their unarmed status, citizens might be more susceptible to attacks(“Gun Control Versus Gun RIghts”) A criminal looking to mug someone would rather go after someone that's not armed versus someone who has a
