Scientists have regularly alleged that the statistics of animals used in testing rooms has significantly increased. According to the Humane Society International, an organization in charge of animal rights, animals that are exploited in experiments are put in inhumane circumstances. They stay for prolonged periods of physical restraint; they are forced to eat, and they are also victims of the infliction of pain to study the effectiveness of medicines and commercial products. Social support in pro of animal experiments has been in descent since the 1950s, dropping from over 90 percent in 1949 to only 57 percent in 2013 (Ericson, 2014). Even though adverse reactions to drugs are declared safe by animal tests, thousands of animals die each year from these reactions. Also, drug reactions are a leading cause of death among societies’ population, affecting 197,000 people every year in the European Union and ascending of 100,000 in the U.S (Archibald, 2012).
