The Lottery Short Story

The central theme of this essay is telling my life story using three other stories I was reading in my english class. The first story is called “Without Title” which is about a girl and her dad who is native american as she is comparing him to a buffalo and his former native tradition. The second story is called “The Lottery” it is about a little town with a dark/weird tradition they have that has to do with death. The third story is called “What, of this Goldfish, Would you Wish” It’s about a man named Sergei that has a goldfish that grants 3 wishes and so far he uses 2 and has one left but he doesn’t want to use it because he sees the fish as a friend that he doesn’t want to lose. In society we end up going with the flow, and in the story when someone is picked to be stoned they just don’t care if they die, they just stay calm because they're used to it, it’s part of them. It relates to me because I go with what society thinks in the bad way because when I was like 13 I used to be depressed and I would do the things that society likes, for example be pretty and have the perfect body figure that I could never reach. The story explains that the little town has a tradition they have which is to pick a piece of paper out of a box and if you are picked you die by getting hit with stones. The traditions I have is way better than the ones in the story what my family do when we see each other is that we kiss each other cheek to say hello or goodbye, and another thing we do it for news we blow up balloons to the amount of numbers in years like if it's 2011 we blow up 11 balloons. The name of the title “The Lottery” in the story it explains that it’s still a lottery but you don’t win money though, in my experience in being in a lottery I have won 100 dollars for this thing in school I was pretty happy compare the the way “lottery” means for the
