We all know that we are not the only inhabitants of the planet Earth. That is why keeping animals as pets became common in some parts of the world since centuries, and a lot of people are willing to spend money on them. In “The last Meow” by Burkhard Bilger. Bilger argues how much people spend on their pets every year and that people started putting their money in the hands of pets. He wrote about the levering story that took place in 2003 as an evidence to expose us on the way people insanely pay money for their pets. In such a fast-paced life people have no time for each other, it seems that pets and dogs is a good way to compensate this loneliness. People tend to spend their time with pets instead of other people who are so much busy to spend their time with others. The article “The last Meow” explained this side when it expound about the relation between the lady and the levering. Karen, Shawn’s wife said, “ I don’t know what I would have done without the cats, Shawn was working long hours…… that i would just go to the bathroom and cry.” Karen became closer to the lady because she felt that it is the only thing that moves, eats, and breath that would comfort her and listen to her at the time where her husband needs to go work which, is almost half the day. Likewise what is happening nowadays with children, parents have to go work for their family sake and leave them alone. Which, make children grow apart from their parents and try to find something or someone to compensate them. And they think that pets are the ideal idea for that. As a result children become more closer to their pets and they treat them like a family
