We asked the SGA Student Activities Coordinator to announce the banner signing and scavenger hunt at Thanksgiving Festival Day. The bookstore planned to celebrate National Student Day and we asked if Phi Theta Kappa could have a table set up advertising the C4 Project. Also, guidance counselors and administration were asked to tell students to sign the banner and encouraged participation in the upcoming events. We contacted the learning system and tutoring coordinator about the tutoring schedule and other self-help resources. By designing a scavenger hunt for students on campus we could increase their awareness of the tools that are available for success. The scavenger hunt was created by meeting with different faculty and staff who created a list of questions students had to answer. The answers to the questions gave further insight to the students of all available resources. Once the students answered the questions, they had to check with the faculty and staff who initialed the correct answers. The students that finished the sheet of questions were entered into a raffle to win different prizes. As a result of the scavenger hunt, some of the students told the Phi Theta Kappa officers that they didn’t realize free tutoring was offered at school. Other students were interested in getting help but didn’t know how to approach their professor about receiving help through office hours. As a result of planning this scavenger hunt, the chapter realized how many students were unaware of ways to seek academic help in college and we experienced first hand how much this activity helped our students explore the fundamentals of success in a college
