Student Teaching Essay
Dr. Seuss famously said, “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” That quote has stuck with me since I was a senior in high school. My favorite teacher encouraged me to push myself further in my education and professional career. Now, through the long temperament boulevard of hard work, I can see the finish line in arm’s reach. I expect to experience at numerous of things during student teaching like preparation, classroom management, develop communication skills with students, staff administration, and parents. During this period, I will learn to engage success, reflect learning, collaborate, dedicate myself, and be unique. First, I know from first-hand how hard it

I am going to have to get control of my classroom, have my students follow my procedures by using positive reinforcement, and reflective learning of my pedagogy. The students in the classroom come from diverse cultures, so it is important that I am able to teach to every standard for every student. Obtaining control of my classroom will result into a good semester by having the students understand my expectations and theirs. My teaching style will have the students motivated to learn and retain the information. I have to have interactive lesson plans that get the students out of their seats and have a hands on approach to what they are learning other than just drill and kill methods. Through this guided practice of I do, we do, and you do, the students will be able to learn about how to be independent thinkers and comprehend their …show more content…
I expect to use professional communication at all times and always be in the loop with teachers, so I can always have a solution to a problem or if I have a question about something. Students need to know why it is important to learn what I am teaching them and how it can empower their education. I will get better at communicating with parents and staff because I will constantly be providing feedback about students and myself to them. Conducting conferences with students and the school’s staff will mold me into a master teacher as the years come by. My mentor tells me that without communication there would be gaps and that is not a good aspect of your teaching path. As mentioned before, communication will provide a continuous cycle that will help me grow as a future teacher and into a master teacher.
In conclusion, I have been a student of the Ready from Day One Model and I am ready to begin. I cannot wait to take this internship, full time and complete the road I started back in field one. I have the skills to prepare me for the preparation, classroom management and communication. Through my teaching, I will provide engagement through my pedagogy, positive classroom management skills, and conductive work ethic from the feedback of my communication. Just like Dr. Seuss said, I am the one that will make the difference of my future students because there is no one youer than

Each person has his or her individual path to follow, no two paths are exactly the same; but, every now and then, paths interweave and people construct bonds with each other. In the case of Sonny and his brother, the narrator, in James Baldwin’s short story, “Sonny’s Blues”, their paths were parallel with one another until they grew up. Sonny left the slums of Harlem, aspiring to become a musician, while his brother settled in Harlem and became a teacher. Although the narrator and his brother ended up with completely different lives, the narrator being a family man with a teaching job and Sonny, an ex-convict playing jazz at a club, are ironically more similar than they are portrayed.…

I have been observing this class every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. where I am learning so much about how to teach. I also have got the opportunity to teach a guided reading lesson which has helped me to understand students on different levels of the reading scale. I think that I am doing well in this class and I am learning so much from my teacher.…
