First, something that lasts for 70 minutes that you’re required to attend is never all that appealing. If you’re involuntarily attending 5 classes that are 70 minutes long each, chances are you’re not going to pay attention in your classes for at least a small portion of the day. In order to combat this, class period lengths can be changed from 70 minutes long to 60 minutes long, and the minutes shaved off from each period can be added onto the current “SOAR” period. Even though I view this as a positive experience in advancing my knowledge of life after high school, it still had its flaws. Seeing as it’s a required class, there are going to be an abundance of problems offered along with it. There were issues such as spending extended periods of time on topics that could easily have been completed in half the time, activities that were forced upon you although they really offered no advantage to you (such as job shadows), and just the pure boredom that the class could bring upon any given
