Residents have started to tote around the contaminated water in jugs, holding them high in the air as protest. At one point, a crowd of 150 protesters walked around the hallways of the Michigan State Capitol on a Thursday, calling for action to fix the contaminated water. Soon those protests were moved to the Romney building which holds the governor’s office. State officers stopped them from leaving the lobby, so they stood, chanting and waving bottles of dirty water for around 20 minutes. (“150 Crows Michigan Capitol In Protest Over Flint Water Crisis”) Claire McClinton said she wanted to see Governor Rick Snyder take more time with the city residents. “He has no interest in the well-being of Flint. He had interest only in the dollar,” McClinton said. “Treat my city like you treat your daughter Treat our people like you treat your dollar.” (“Flint Water Crisis Protest at Two-Year Mark Urges Change”) Protesters like Tony Palladino protested among the people but didn’t mind saying a few harsh words towards the fellow protesters and residents. “You guys understand, it’s been two years going on,” he said. “I’m going to say something none of you are going to like to hear, but it’s true.
