Abstract
Bipolar disorder is a mental condition that is associated with the different episodes of the depression. There are two main types associated with the level of the depression the hyper-manic state and the hypomanic state of the patient. There are many causes of the bipolar disorder, but one of the main cause is the stressed life events of the patient. The main part of the body that is affected by the bipolar disorder is the brain cells and the nervous system of the human body. The release of the neurotransmitters is disturbed in this disease. The bipolar polar disorder is also a psychiatric disorder, and it can be treated by providing the healthy conditions and proper mentoring of the patient. Many medications and combination of the drugs are also recommended in certain cases. This paper includes the different types of treatment used to cure the patients suffering from the bipolar disorder. This disorder causes the unusual shifting of the mood and behavior. This disorder is also associated with the change in the energy level of the individual suffering with the disorder. These mood transitions are sometimes very dangerous for the health of the individual. These mood deviations are sometimes deviated to a certain level that may cause the damage of some of the brain cells. Sometimes a patient faces very sad episodes of the manic expression. The manic disorders are last for 7 days. And if the condition becomes worse then a person is cured in the custody of the hospital. There are two types of the episode faced by the person suffering from the bipolar disorder. These episodes are hyper manic and hypomanic. The hyper manic condition lasts for seven years, but the hypomanic condition only lasts for few hours with recurrent attacks. There are four types of bipolar disorder, namely, bipolar type I (BP-I), bipolar disorder type II (BP-II), bipolar disorder not otherwise specified (BP-NOS), and cyclothymic disorder. BP I is typified by at least an instance of manic depression, whereas BP II is characterized by a major manic depression episode and at least one hypomanic episode. A positive BP-NOS diagnosis is arrived at when BP I and BP II screens all come out with negative results. Cyclothymic disorder, on the other hand, is a mild form of the condition, which fluctuates back and forth and fails to identify with one form of bipolar disorder. For prognosis, medical testing is not recommended, but blood and fluid testing can be conducted to rule out related complications (nih.gov, 2016).
