While the American’s accreditation system for educational institutions was stared at late 19th century, the formal public health accreditation was initiated in the mid of 1940 where only 10 schools of public health accredited by the American Public Health association(APHA). In 1997, the Council on Education of Public Health(CEPH) as part of APHA to be the only independent authority responsible for evaluation and accreditation of public health programs and institutions in the United State. According to Center of Disease Control and Prevention, Public Health is defined as “as a science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health and efficiency through organized community effort.” With more than 300 public and private institutions offering degrees in public health. At same time, there is huge shortage in providing public health services all over the world.
