Similar to Calvin Coolidge, I believe that I have the vary same upbringing in life for this view of hard work. His father taught that him if someone worked hard then they will will be rewarded greatly, however, if someone were to not accomplish anything and expect everything to be done for them, then they will receive nothing. In this same way father taught me that in order to catch a fish, you need to have a hook in the water. This means that if you don’t try, then you won’t amount to anything. A statement from Calvin Coolidge is “ Nothing is more dangerous to good government than great power in improper hands.” This acknowledgement of corrupt people in powerful positions has been proven multiple times throughout history. This was a very wise gesture from Calvin Coolidge because he knew that if he was going to represent and lead the United States, then he would have to put in effort to make sure that the power that would be presented to him would corrupt him as well. This knowledge that Calvin Coolidge showed that he was willing to think things through in order to to what was best for the Country. Calvin Coolidge also stated that “Fate bestows its rewards on those who put themselves in the proper attitude to receive them.” This quote is very important to me because I know from experience that It is very difficult to go through life with a bad attitude. After reading this statement, i showed me that Calvin Coolidge was able to accept the fact that in order to accept sood things, your attitude has to be willing to accept them as well. I believe that Walking through life with a sour expression and a bad attitude can be not only exhausting but depressing as well. By having this viewpoint on attitude, I think that Calvin Coolidge thought about almost everything he did before he did them in order to know what was the best thing to
