"I deserve, certainly, the most extreme punishment society has, and I think society deserves to be protected from me and from others like me." This quote from Ted Bundy, stated just days before his execution in Florida’s electric chair, shows that Bundy truly is a cold-hearted killer (Nichols 54). Bundy is thought to be responsible for the death of more than 30 women and girls, all with the same physical characteristics. Using tricks such as asking for help to find his dog or pretending to have a broken limb is how he swindled girls into their capture, rape, and death. Of the few part-time jobs Ted held during his college life, he was often late and was an unreliable worker. She finally broke off the relationship in 1968. Ted was devastated after the split, and became depressed and introverted once more. To add to his state of depression, he found out that Eleanor Louise Cowell was actually his mother, and not his sister. This deeply affected Ted because his whole childhood was now a lie. Ted, now determined to win back his ex-love Stephanie, took to his studies. He was willing to do anything in his power to gain her acceptance and prove that he had goals and future plans. He went back to Washington University and started to study psychology furiously. Ted excelled in his new study and many teachers praised his work in class. Ted sent multiple letters to Stephanie bragging about his new success, but she was not impressed enough to send
