The story starts in 1985 in Boston when John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) was eight years old, friendless and lonely. Then he wished that his only friend, Ted (Seth MacFarlane), his teddy bear who had a voice recorded message "I love you", would love him forever. John got his wish as Ted miraculously came to life. Fast forward twenty – seven years later, John and Ted have remained best of friends. Although physically the same throughout the years, Ted now has the grown-up urges and collects the same attitude as his best friend by being vulgar, perverted and immature as they could. However, John’s girlfriend of four years Lori Collins (Mila Kunis), believes that John's emotional immaturity and lack of professional drive is because of his friendship with Ted. Although Lori does see John as being her husband in the future that cannot happen as long as the current situation with Ted remains. To make things worse, came along a father and son team Donny (Giovanni Ribisi) and Robert (Aedin Mincks), long time die – hard – fans of Ted who will go to any length to have that talking teddy bear as their own. They kidnapped and held Ted hostage in their home, however John and Lori kept up and found out Ted whereabouts. Pursuit between the two team brewed with comical and drama however ended with the death of Ted. Nevertheless, Ted reawaken the next morning caused by Lori’s wish after seeing how bereaved and sorrow John the night before. …show more content…
