Instruments have family's just like use. And the members in the family aren't always the same. For example some of the members in the Woodwind family are Clarinet,Oboe,Violin, and Flute. Notice the Flute is not made out of wood. Playing an instrument should not be a requirement but something pleasurable aside from school because, not every child want or like to play an instrument, many of the students can't afford the instruments, and all students are different there brains react to things differently then others.

Students should have a say in what they do specially on taking such big responsibility. Not every child likes music. They might be interested in art, sports,or dance. In source #3 it states that''Students might have other responsibilities".Students shouldn't over work its against the law plus given them so much to do may take the fun away from their childhood. In source #3 it says that "It might have a negative affect". There's a saying you can take a horse to the lake but you can't force it to drink. It's nice to be introduced to new things but if the student has a passion for something else like art or sports you can't and shouldn't force them to play an

In source #3 it says that "The students are on different levels and that being taken out of class or taking away study time would not be the best of benefits for the student and it's true". Many students are on the edge, failing classes and having trouble at home. Playing an instrument as a way to relax and move from reality is understandable but having it as a requirement would make it worse for the student. In source #1 i states that "Families might ant their kids to focus more on their school work". Many people would agree that having a career and a degree is better than playing an instrument especially one that you were forced to play. Kids already don't like school, don't drive them away even

Duax had also quoted many other reliable people to add more evidence of success in her article. The article The Importance of Music Education written by Alexis Kalivretenos, a trumpet player with a Bachelors Degree in music education from the University of Maryland, is a compelling article that argues the importance of keeping music in the core curriculum of education systems across the nation. Kalivertenos uses a combination of ethos pathos and logos to argue that music should not only be kept in the curriculum but actually benefits the other subjects in the curriculum. Kalivertenos states that music has always taken a back seat to other core subjects such as math and reading. She backs this up with a ten-year study of high school students which states “students in music classes receive higher scores on standardized tests than students with little to no musical involvement.”…

Today, fewer children before the age of seven participate in and receive the proper amount of playing musical instruments. For example, Tom Barnes mentions in his article, The Scientific Reason We Should Teach Music to Kids in School, that “85% of public school students have not received adequate musical instruction by the time they reach high school.” I think primary education could fix this problem if they provide more musical classes in their course plans. Recent studies by The National Association for Music Education (NAME) shows statistical data between elementary schools who provide classes of musical culture versus schools that do not. They discovered, “Schools with music programs have an estimated 90.2% graduation rate and 93.9% attendance rate compared to schools without music education, which average 72.9% graduation and 84.9% attendance.”…

Formally, the first movement of the Quintet is of considerable interest. The interest is generated not by a problem in determining the overall form, for that is clearly sonata form. Rather, it is in determining the exact location of the main sections and subsections within the sonata form. The sections which will most concern our discussion are the introductions, the exposition and the developmental section. I say introductions as plural as it appears actually be two sections of music.…

All over the country, elite schools integrate music into their curriculum, astonished by the strong correlation between musical training and improved grades. Even here at Kennesaw Mountain, it is interesting that the vast majority of band and orchestra students are also magnet and honors students. Scientists and psychologists alike have been intrigued by the peculiar connection between the two, conducting numerous studies to discern the cause. Eventually, researchers discovered the link, further concreting the evidence behind the correlation of the two aspects. Their studies proved that the actual process of learning an instrument improves your brain's thinking skills, or cognitive abilities.…

Abstract. The following paper contains a series of statistic analyses performed among a group of 92 students between 8 and 19 years old, who play an instrument at the Conservatory of Music Arrigo Pedrollo (VI). The goal of this observational study is to detect a possible relationship between instrumental studies and general studies, the students efforts toward compulsory education. Moreover, this paper wants to deepen the variables affecting the achievement in instrument playing such as the relationship between the pupils and their professor of principal instrument, parents’ educational level, individual frequency of study, weekly hours of practice and other psychological features of the student(extraversion and conscientiousness).…

When a student reaches Middle School age the freedom starts to run rapid. Learning musical concepts establishes self-discipline as well as the standard requirement for behavior. According to a college professor, "musical learning and performance has these values [which] include [ones] [need] to learn and be self disciplined to practice, take instruction and criticism[...] (Petress). Musical learning on a child requires them to establish the mentality to discipline themselves enough to practice even when they are not too keen on the idea. This mentality follows the child along in other classes, helps them stay focused on a task, and not procrastinate in order to get things done faster in an allotted amount of time.…

For my research proposal, I would like to discover why including music is important in a general education. I would like to discover how having students study in instrumental or choral ensembles will help students succeed in their math, english, and foreign language classes. I would also like to explore how having no music impacts the academic results of students. I am choosing this topic, because the arts is always getting cut within public school systems, even though it has a positive impact on other academics. As someone who is going to be a music educator, I would like to know, just how much of an impact I will make in a school system and how much my job will be valued.…

“Music expresses that which cannot be put in words and that which cannot remain silent.” This quote, by Victor Hugo, is one example of why students should participate in music programs in the duration of high school. Music is a way to channel emotions within teenagers. In addition, students in band or choir show certain characteristics found in athletes, including leadership and discipline. Music is the only class that uses your full brain, as a result of this, they have a high grade point average.…
