Did you know one out of five couples meet on social media? That just goes to show how different our world has become with the use of this new way of networking. A relationship with social media however is much different then a relationship with a person and mine is not all that compared to people relationships. Social media has grown to mean many things but to me social media is not my life, it is a way of communication, and a new way to hear the news.
To begin, I don’t have many means of social media. I have an Instagram to see pictures of my family and of nature. I have a Facebook because of my sorority. I have a Snapchat because of my high school friends. My uses for social media are very different then most people my age. If I didn’t have

Although, since I have been in college my perspective of my phone and social media has very much so changed. When I was at home and in high school I would barely ever have my phone on me at all because everyone I needed was right there with me. Since I have been in college my phone is always by my side because my family and friends communicate with me through it and without that I don’t think I could make it two and a half hours away from them all. I can now talk and see what my family and friends are up to without having to pick up the phone and call. I can see what they have been up too by looking at their recent photos and by their posts. This is not only fun but also wonderful when you see those old friends because if they bring up something they have done you can always say you’ve seen the pictures or heard they were going. Not only can you share to everyone but you can also share directly to the people you want too. In the case of snapchat I can send all of my friends funny videos or pictures of where I am or what I am doing or I can send a funny selfie to my best friend from home to start a …show more content…
I didn’t find out from a TV or radio about what had happened in Paris, it was all over the Internet within a few minutes of it happening. News is another reason I go on social media, not even just for family or friends news but also for the world. There is a special feature on snapchat that allows the people near an important place to take videos and share them to not only their friends but also the entire snapchat nation. For example, the recent debates that have been all over TV have also been live streamed on snapchat through snapchatters taking videos while they are there. All of the candidates have snapchats so it’s pretty awesome to see what they have to say about the event. One of the main reasons I have a Facebook is for my sorority Delta Gamma. Everyone posts what we need to know and if you ever need someone to go to dinner with you all you have to do is post on the page and you can always find a sister to go with you. This makes it really easy to stay in contact with everyone and if you don’t have everyone’s number its no
