Many different sources suggest that Sikhism was started and founded in 1496. And eventually made its self to the United States in the late 19th century.

The religion had originally started in Punjab India. And the majority of the religions followers still live in Punjab India.
Founder
The man who was credited with starting this religion is Guru Nanak. He is credited with starting the religion because he took the Hindu and Islamic religion and some what made a combination of the two.
Holy People/Days

Some of this religions main believes consists of things such as baptism, there life after death, and the purpose to be one with there god.
To begin one of there main believes revolves around being baptized. One major part about this religion is being connected with their God. When a Sikh is baptized they are then known as a Amiritdhari. Being baptized is a way of being connected to God. After there baptism they need to continue the Sikh life style. Some the practices Sikhs take part in daily are daily meditation sessions with there god.
In addition, Sikhs also believe in reincarnation. The act of reincarnation is when someone dies and after death they are then reborn. Sikhs do believe in heaven and hell however. They believe once you complete you you're salvation in either heaven or hell you will be reincarnated back into the
