Dog fighting goes way back to around medieval times. Before it was outlawed many pit bulls were used to fight animals like bears, bulls and there own kind(1). These fights often where fight till either the dog or the animal dies. As this went on the dogs were abused and raised for fighting. They would beat on the dogs to make them more aggressive. These poor innocent dogs, that did nothing wrong, had to go through torture and pain to then either die or win in a fight. “Rat-baiting” (2) is when you put a dog in a pin with a bunch of rats and bet on how long it will take the dog to kill all the rats in the pin. This is a less harmful one but still very sinister because, these poor rats dont know whats happening. Another one is “bull baiting” (2) this is when you put a couple of dogs in a round pin with a bull and they fight to the death (3) these dogs sometimes make it out but, they are usually in critical condition and covered in blood and all beat up. When these dogs lose they end up getting beat up by their owner or shot dead because, they are in critical condition and need a hospital and because of this background, they have a tendency to lash out sometimes. They were bred to be that way but with good love and discipline they can be a loving house pet but if mistreated they can be a deadly animal that can snap at any moment. Pitbulls were created when bulldogs and terriers were mixed. They are both very obedient dogs and are even called ¨nanny dogs” because of their loyalty (4), which makes it more likely for it to be the owners fault when the dog lashes out and not the dogs. When a dog attacks it was either told to do it or was triggered by something. Like if it was scared it would want to protect itself so it attacks. All dogs do this but, because the pit bull breed is so strong and looks so tough we take it as aggressive and not self defense. For them to be aggressive they would have had to have been abused or startled in someway because, they don't just lash out for no reason they are just like every other dog just with a more violent past. When a dog is abused at a young age as it gets older it will think all humans will hurt them and
