America’s School-To-Prison Pipeline System

Buffalo State College School-to-prison pipeline refers to the laws and policies that take children out of classrooms and push them into the juvenile or criminal justice system. In lower income communities, kids tend to lack resources when it comes to education. These children may typically lack qualified teachers, after-school programs they could attend, textbooks and school supplies, and generally just ways to get help when they truly need it. School systems have been greatly increasing in the rates of which kids are suspended or expelled for small offenses like missing class, fighting, or acting out.
