When I graduated high school, I went straight to college I figured it would best to just keep going and not take any breaks. At eighteen, I started attending IPFW my first year I didn’t want to move too far away from home. My first year of college was a lot to manage there was no one telling me I had to go to school or when I can go to the bathroom or I can’t eat in class. Leaving the high school life and walking into the college atmosphere was exciting I had freedom and room to breathe and do what I want. I still remained to be a young adult to my understanding when I am applying for your own food stamps you have to be eighteen and older and that was all to it. As I applied the first time I was denied and was told I was an ineligible college student, meaning because I was enrolled as a full time student and was not working twenty hours a week I was not qualified. I was also told I had to bear a child, to qualify another way trying to find a job my first year was hard because I didn’t have transportation to get …show more content…
I am finally able to qualify for SNAP benefits I applied and of course my information changed due to certain circumstances in my life. I now have work study and was able to find a simple work study job where I can work as much and as little as I want to. I now make ten and hour and work three days a week where I work twenty seven hours a week. I am now twenty two years old it took me five years to finally qualify for SNAP benefits where I no longer have to pay for groceries out of pocket. I get a certain amount of funds each month to get all my nutriment
