How to get internal stakeholders (clinical and non-clinical) to buy into a new pharmacy? Stakeholders should be involved during each stage of new pharmacy to build support for it, provide suggestions for its design, and participate in evaluation and continuous quality improvement activities. Involving stakeholders during all stages of the company can lead to an early buy in, successful program design, and establishment of long-term support for the company (Caleb, 2015). Implementing strategies is very important when getting a new company off the ground. The very most important strategy is communication. Communicating regularly with stakeholders is the key to getting them to invest in a new company. Ongoing communication represents another strategy to secure and maintain stakeholders support. By maintaining regular communication with stakeholders, the administrative staff can establish themselves as the key contact or source for information about the new pharmacy. Serving as the key contact ensures that stakeholders receive recent and correct information and provides a resource for stakeholders’ questions or concerns. Once this strategy is implemented, communicating routinely with stakeholders regarding program successes, failures, and new initiatives will help manage expectations and build support for the program (Caleb, 2015). The new pharmacy will insures the employees for healthcare coverage, also to pilot innovative pharmacy services such as targeted disease management that can be offered to other health benefit plans. Another strategy is creating a pharmacy refill clinic that allows physicians to optimize their time with patients while improving medication use safety, adherence, and outcomes. Identify and implement ways for the pharmacy to actively contribute to the health system’s support services for high risk patients, including efforts in telehealth, patient education, and motivational interviewing for improving adherence. Assertively incorporate a behavioral health component into pharmacist patient care, including chronic disease management and prescription assistance programs (Caleb, 2015). Both hospital and community pharmacists have a significant role to play in advocacy of opening a new pharmacy. Advocacy is a tool that has the potential to have a profound impact on a pharmacy practice. Legislation is changing. Governments and pharmacy governing bodies are continuing to work to increase the scope of practice of pharmacists, leaving companies with an incredible opportunity to grow. Pharmacists also need to take responsibility for advocating through the interactions with patients, other health care professionals and the public. This is a call to action for the entire profession. If the majority of pharmacists do so, the potential for growth, increased patient awareness and sustainability and advancement of this profession are endless (Maryland & Gonzalez, 2012). Interaction with other pharmacists and pharmacies may sometimes be challenging because of perceptions of competition, but always remember that working together with the pharmacists within the city, province or country is the very way to create practice change. …show more content…
Attend conferences not only for the content but also to meet other pharmacists and then stay in contact with them. Follow journals, blogs and articles and look for ways to apply what has been successful for other pharmacists.     In general, the Pre-Pharmacy Association is created with the mission to help it members to be involved in the school activity and provide them with resources and opportunities in order to introduce them to the world of pharmacy major. For this is an educational program their use of language was very intelligent as I interview Trinh Nguyen, a member and biochemistry major at the University of Oklahoma, I found out the group social language was more educational, they apply a lot of medical vocabulary in their everyday conversation.
