To begin with we’ll list the dictionary definitions of the word resiliency. From what I was able to find there are three common definitions to the word. The first definition is, the ability to recover quickly from misfortune, this definition seems to be the most popular for resiliency for its broadness of being able to fit most situations. The second most common definition of resiliency is, able to return to its original form after being bent, compressed or stretched out of shape, this definition refers to the scientific definition of the word which refers to the general malleability of the object or material. The third and final definition I have for resiliency is, a human ability to recover quickly from a disruptive change. Out of all three definitions I have listed I found this one to be the most correct simply because it is more specific, in that while the first definition has a broader meaning of all objects, the third one refers specifically to the human ability of resilience and how it mainly occurs, which is a disruptive change. …show more content…
In my opinion, every single person that has and will ever live has some type of resilience. I believe this because every single action you perform will require you to have some resilience if not immediately, later on, because of cause and effect which dominates this world. In my daily life I am required to have a decent amount of resilience. For example, I completely messed up my freshman year of high school, but I am currently trying to minimize the damage as much as possible by getting in overdue work or doing extra work for classes just to slightly help me not completely fail. I could have easily just given up and not even tried to fix my grades, but since I have the resilience to realize where I went wrong and try to fix I am ever so slightly picking myself
