Relationship Building Discussion
Mr. Fay presented several good reasons or ideas crucial to building relationships, but since I am asked to pick one that I think is the most crucial, I would have to pick obedience. Obedience is better than sacrifice (1Sam 15:22 KJV) and Jesus taught His disciples to be fisher of men. He gave the command for all His disciples to make disciples in the Great Commission.
According to Fay & Shepherd, (1999) “A “fisher of men” is someone who throws a lifeline to those thrashing in the sea of despair. In reality, the unbeliever is desperate to be rescued by the truth of God’s love and salvation” (p. 114). Disciples make disciples and the only way one can begin making a disciple is by getting up close and personal
