My interest in Public Interest Law, is mainly because I have always been interested in domestic violence. As a 15 year old female, I have not personally witnessed any kind of physical domestic abuse. However, I have witnessed verbal and mental domestic abuse. As a child, ages 4-9 I was raised in a single parent home. My father raised my sister and I to be strong and independent females in "a man's world". My sister and I have had abandonment issues and anxiety for "young ages". My sister's anxiety started at a very young age, age unknown, my anxiety on the other hand, started at a fairly mature age, 14. I saw the frustration on both of their faces when she had to leave or miss after school rehearsal. I once heard one directors tell the other, "why would you leave one practice just to go to another? Makes no sense to me!". So I toughened up and dropped cross country, and might I say, we had a VERY successful marching season! Now I am approaching the second semester, which means track season and concert season. Athletics and band are both very important aspects of my life. I feel as if both keep me very busy and aware of my academics, due to the UIL rules and regulations for both. I am certainly looking forward to joining the debate team next year(I wasn’t aware we had one this year until it was too late). I am also being entered in a Medical Terminology class next year. It may seem a little early for some people to start looking at colleges their freshmen year of high school, but I have been informed by many people that many colleges start looking at kids their freshmen year to see if they can handle the pressure, and I absolutely can. I have high goals for college. I am striving to break the mold of my family's past and be the first one to attend and finish college. Due to my goals and motivation to concur them, I am looking to attend one of the 5 highest ranking law
