1a) Reflect on how your learner’s profile will affect your training preparation (e.g lesson plan in Module 2) & training delivery (Module 3)
To provide at least 1 example of all of the following:
1) Demographics –
Age, Race and Gender are important parts in planning a training plan. Training must appeal to the young and old learners involved. Care must be taken not to broach on sensitive topics based on gender
E.g the antagonist should not always be a female (auntie)
E.g Acronyms or jargon that is used, must be taken care not to be used or be explained whereby its likely that older learners will have trouble understanding.
2) Cognitive Level –
Learner must be able to understand and follow the training pace and fully grasp the objective of the training. Training pace will be set at the pace of the average learner. If there are slower learners who have trouble grasping the concept that I am training, then I will spend additional time during breaks to walk them through it. 3) Affective – The training will cover motivating factors that the learners are interested in. E.g Learners are interested to improve on their service quality to patrons, so training should cover on problem solving and how to increase empathy or sincerity shown. 4) Social – Taking into consideration the vast learner’s background, there may be a possibility whereby the knowledge is misconstrued due to language. Note- the learner’s profile should be based on the lesson you will be designing in Module 2 and facilitating in module 3. 1b) Reflect on the following: i. The application of at least one of the Adult Learning Theory/ adult learning principle as a trainer and/or lesson plan developer Using Garry Mitchell top 10 Principles of Adult learning, the application would be that using hands on approach whereby learners will get into groups, have discussions on the challenges faced and possible solutions. During the course of training, learners will be asked to contribute their experiences to draw context on similar situations that they have faced and provide opinions or solutions that they have created to solve the challenge that they faced. As a lesson plan developer, bite sized information will be given before allowing groups to gather and discuss, and finally present their answer to ensure full understanding before moving on to another topic. Role playing to be incorporated to allow learners to practice and make mistakes. Layman language used instead of technical jargon to ensure full understanding. A reflections session will be done at the end of the training. ii. Potential Learning Barriers of learners Situational barriers: a person’s life situation / inhabitation at the time Example: Physical disabilities, language, financial, lack of awareness Institutional barriers: Rules, policy, procedures that hinders the adult from learning. Example: legal laws, no off time, leave for training unapproved, wrong time for training – peak periods during school holiday breaks. Dispositional barriers (Psycho-social): Barriers created due to one’s attitude about self and learning. Example: Ego, Resistance to change or improvement, wrong motivation or reason for learning, arrogance, self esteem, negative learning attitude The potential learning barriers that I expect to encounter would be mainly Dispositional barriers and a little of situational barrier as training is within my …show more content…
To include at least 2 code of ethics of Continuing Education & Training (CET) in your role as a trainer.
The CET Professional Values that is needed to apply are to be committed, aware, aspirational, evolutionary, innovative, principled. I feel that as a trainer, I need to be passionate and committed to my learners. Other than being focused and being “present” during training and support after training, I must always want the best for my learners. To be able to make a difference in their learning journey.
As a trainer, I will need to be Aware and have a view that learners are all unique and capable. Each having their own ability and aptitude. I must be aware of and respect their opinions, views and beliefs and therefore must adjust my way of training approaches to be able to cater to their diverse needs. Time and space to answer questions will be provided to learners and will create optimum learning environments or leaners regardless their abilities. I will also need to be principled, being unbias and respectful to my learners different abilities and level, to always sincerely want them to succeed and the willingness to
