Students with autism can be in inclusion classrooms, resource rooms or self-contained rooms. Self-contained rooms are the most restrictive but are reserved for students who have severe autism (Heward, 2013). Upon observing a Inclusion classroom, It was mentioned that not much of the curriculum needed to be changed for the student who had autism (G Salazar, personal communication, October 20,2016). During the observation, no augmentative devices were needed. The student was able to speak and read really well. He was successfully able to act out the sound effects such as knocking sounds and the differencing voices per character. Ms. Salazar mentioned that the student with autism performed better when he was at a table with female students who were good at staying on task. When asked about the other students being distracted Ms. S responded with “It’s distracting at first when he gets off task and make a scene, however, students go on with their assignments as normal.”(Salazar 2016). Ms. Salazar mentioned that the student has a reward system that they use with him where if he gets so many stickers for his performance he gets to go to the sensory room (G Salazar, personal communication, October 20,2016). The sensory room is a classroom that had some workout balls, mats, a table with manipulatives, and some weighted vests and blankets. Here he could move around and work his gross motor
