As some of you know, I will undergo open heart surgery on February 15, 2016. During this surgery, the doctors will try to repair all of my congenital heart defects. This should prevent me from having a heart transplant in the near future, as well as avoid other serious health related issues I have faced in the last few months. The surgery is supposed to start early in the morning, around 8 am, EST, and if things go well I should be out of the operating room by the afternoon. Contrary to the opinions of my previous cardiologist and surgeon, who were very pessimist with regard to my diagnosis and prognosis, the current doctors actually believe I may have a chance.…

Discuss the difference between Level 1: CPT Codes and Level II: HCPCS National Codes and give an example of each. Level 1: CPT Codes are codes used for medical procedures, these consist of five digits. “Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), is a code set maintained by the American Medical Association (AMA)”, it is designed to describe medical, surgical, and diagnostic services accurately. It is used as a form of uniform communication across the medical field. The CPT Codes are not particularly private, as AMA has the sole copyright to the codes, so you have to “pay a license fee if you want to compare the Relative Value Unit (RVU) values to the CPT codes”.…

They call them “Tap-taps,” the brightly painted open back trucks that transport passengers through the dusty streets of Haiti. A traveler taps the side of the vehicle to board, pays, rides and then taps to jump off at a desired destination. For one particular man who sat with his face covered by a towel, that destination was the Diegue clinic in Port-au-Prince. All I knew from intake was that this patient was here for a foot issue. I noticed the adult sitting uncomfortably, a towel wrapping his foot, as his eyes scanned around the room.…

However, with the guidance and instruction given to me by the professor and peers I was able to strengthen my work as a student.…

On May 20, 2016, my adviser and I sat down to have a discussion about the university required courses and courses that was mandatory for the Liberal Arts college. English 101 was one of the classes I chose to take my first semester because I knew I had more knowledge on writing efficient papers because of my previous AP English courses in high school. In high school, I was always told that I was an adequate writer because I knew the basic of connecting ideas that provided a clear concrete understanding. However, the only time I received an unsatisfactory score was when the information I included in my paper was unorganized. Also, another reason I chose to take English my first semester instead of my second semester was because I knew I needed…

While other six year old girls loved playing dress up and pretended to be princesses, I was always too busy pretending to save the lives of my imaginary patients. My family members have always told me that I stood out from the other girls from a very young age, other girls were in love with the thought of meeting prince charming one day, while I was in love with the thought of becoming an individual who will be entitled to save the lives of strangers. In this paper I will explain why I have chosen to become a surgeon, and also why I believe it is the perfect job for me. Next semester I am enrolled in English 220, and after having taken this course I feel substantially better about continuing on with English courses at a college level. It has helped me to become more confident in my writing skills and provided me with an excellent basis for me to continue on with next semester, and throughout the rest of my schooling experience. Throughout this class I have learned many things, but perhaps the most important is the steps to writing an essay, and the planning options.…
