Ralph lauren and his wife Ricky were first married in 1964. Together they had three children two sons named Andrew and David and a daughter named Dylan. The oldest son Andrew is a film producer. He had produced the movies called The Spectacular Now and The Squid and the whale. The middle child David was the only one who took a job at their father 's company. He is the Executive Vice President of advertising, marketing,and corporate communications. He is responsible for the global advertising and market campaigning. David is also the president of Polo Ralph Laurens Foundation and is apart of numerous charities. Ralph and Ricky Lauren 's daughter did not join the family business but she did create her own. When celebrities are at award ceremonies the reporters ask who they are wearing and sometimes the name they say is Ralph Lauren. When Mr. Lauren hears his name it’s like an honor to him. His designs are being recognized is the reason he designs in the first place. It is what keeps him designing all of his different lines. Another reason he loves designing is because he gets the opportunity to make special designs for certain people you hear that some celebrities get a one of a kind special design dress for and award show. But Ralph had the opportunity to his own daughter’s wedding dress. In an interview she had said her father had designed and created with only a little say from her. They always told them to just be happy and do what they want. They didn 't force their kids to work in their father 's business but they still had the option to. They had made sure that they worked hard for their money and not just given it. When they had to travel they had always taken the kids with them and they always spent time together. None of their kids think of their parents as celebrities they just think of them as mom and dad. The kids forget that their dad is a famous designer until friends started asking questions about him or the clothing. The family loves spending time together and they see each other as best friends. Even though being a parent comes before being friends. Lauren 's kids enjoy wearing his clothes because to them they are not just clothes they are something
