Rainbow Case Study Scenarios

I have spoken several times with Ms. Carpenter Rainbow case manager and also behavioral therapist Carrie Miller. Ms. Edward Etwan’s mother continues to not respond to phone calls. He continues to miss appointments with Ms. Miller and with the Rainbow program. Ms. Carpenter has reached out to work with the child’s grandmothers. I did confirm that Etwan did have only part of his appointment with Dr. Dennis. This was to do a repeat neuropsychology testing as was recommended. There is still a question if he is or not taking the prescribed medications. Ms. Edwards continues to not respond to any phone contact.

Behavioral therapist Ms. Carrie Miller reports that 75% of the therapy appointments made have not been attended due to Mom not being home. At this point. Miller calls Ms. Edwards as a reminder for the Monday appointment, if she doesn’t respond, then she will not go out to the home. Rainbow rehab reports that they had to stop the Saturday program because the driver will go to pick Etwan up and he is not at the location they were told he would be at. They have made great effort to accommodate and transport to the Saturday program. At this point, Ms. Edwards was instructed to contact Rainbow by Friday afternoon if she planned on Etwan being picked up. We also discussed at length the lack of medication and attendance. It appears that Ms. Edwards is not consistently in the home and a lot of supervision is provided by teenage relatives that are in and out of the apartment while Ms. Edwards is out. The afterschool rehab program is attended hit and miss. Etwan goes home after school then he is picked up. He is either not there, Ms. Edwards is not there or he refuses to go.
