As a CNA, she experiences many different gender roles and communication styles. Most of the people she works with grew up in a different generation and have many differences then E.B. Many of the women she helps prefer only to have assistance from another woman. Many of the women also tell her about their stories growing up and how many women did not have jobs and were mainly just the caregivers of the house. The people she works with also have many different types of communication. Most of them did not grow up with the technology advances as we do today and struggle understanding the dialect used in our generation. She does not have to ever worry about going hungry and always had food to spare in the fridge. She has no rituals and special meaning to her food except on holidays such as thanksgiving where she says that she appreciates it more during that time. She has a slim body type but eats as if she doesn’t. Her favorites consist of pasta, pizza, and Coca-Cola. When she is sick, food is typically avoided except for mild foods that do not affect her stomach such as chicken noodle soup and ginger ale. E.B currently is not pregnant and not at a time in her life where she is trying to attain that. She uses birth control and other safe practices. As she does want kids in the future, she does have certain attitudes towards labor and pregnancy. She believes in pro-life and is against abortion is almost all causes except in the chances that it is better for the baby. Regular vaginal delivery is the hope for in the future, but she is not against C-sections or other delivery practices.
