Pros And Cons Of The National Anthem By Cranlin Kapernick

How do you feel about people sitting or kneeling during the national anthem? Just so you understand what I am talking about, this all started when Colin Kapernick took a knee during the presentation of the national anthem. His reason behind his actions was that he felt no need to support a country who oppresses African Americans and other minorities. As Americans it is our duty to respect our country and those who fight for it. It is a dishonor for anyone to enjoy the freedom as an American, but not support the country and those who fight for our freedom.
As Americans we should definitely stand during the national anthem unlike Colin Kapernick did and continues to do. Colin Kapernick said, “I am not going to stand up and show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color”. As a player in the National Football League Kapernick has many people looking up to him. This has lead them to do the same thing by taking a knee during the presentation of the national anthem. Now there are college and High school coaches as well as players that follow his actions during the presentation of the national anthem. One of them being that there are over 8,000 soldiers who have died in the middle east fighting for our freedom. In relation to that there are millions of families who don’t know if their loved one will ever come home alive. It is for these people we need to show our support be cause they understand that freedom is not free at all. The national anthem has been played at every sporting event and it has always been a tradition so we should continue our patriotic tradition. These are just a few reasons why we should stand during the national anthem unlike the many heartless and unpatriotic who follow Colin Kapernicks
