Propaganda is usually used by political parties and officials to mislead and manipulate a nation into accepting their political views and actions. ¨Propaganda does not deceive people, it merely helps them to deceive themselves” - Eric Hoffer, social philosopher. The majority of propaganda used by political parties during war time was used to influence and gain support of the people that whatever political view they were encouraging was the right thing. One common example of this was the selling of war bonds in World War I and World War II. War bonds or liberty bonds were sold to support and finance a military action. Holocaust is a word that comes from a Greek word origin meaning “sacrifice by fire.” Germans were believed to be “racially superior” (The Holocaust- World War II), and Jews were threats to their economy and government. Obviously, the Jewish people were NOT the cause of German loss in WWI but was only justified through propaganda usage by the Nazis.
