Prairie View A & M University Application Essay

First, let me you why I chose Prairie View A&M University. When I was younger I always heard about their nursing program and how they were number one in the field. So, I wanted to attend the University and that's what I did and now I'm here and it's completely different from what I imagined it to be. I thought everything was going to be smoove but boy was I wrong. I was so hurt that it wasn't how I imagined and wish someone would have told me these things. Like things about financial aid, social skills, dependency but no one did that for me so I had to deal with it and figure it out after I started school.
Financial Aid was like a major issue for me simply because Prairie View said that nothing was received but when I went to the financial

Simply because I really have little to none and that's not a good thing. One thing for sure networking is key and a major thing you would want to do in college. You never know who you may run into later on or who you may stay in touch with after college. I'm not being on studying quite frankly, I personally hate doing it, takes up too much time. Honestly, it makes me really sleepy and drained and sometimes I feel like if I study too hard I'm not going to remember the information in the morning and that sucks also I felt like I studied for nothing because what they tell you to study don't be on the test and that's what frustrates me the most. Before college, I felt like studying was a waste of time and I would never do it because in high school, I never had to prepare for things because whatever the test was about was just like the review. Studying is a priority that you need to have because you may be learning a lot one day and you don't remember anything or don't understand because you barely listened but you wrote it down, you can go back to it and review it because your test is next class and you need to know this information or your going to fail. Therefore, I wish somebody had told me to work on my study habits and social skills because it extremely

Schools, such as Loma Linda University, have built their organization on the foundation of faith. Those who attend have similar beliefs and strive to live a life guided by Christ. A faith-based education would be of special benefit to me, as I desire to be part of peers and educators that aspire to merge learning and faith together. The support and encouragement that this type of community would provide is immeasurable to any other college. I individually want to attend LLU because it will give me the opportunity to challenge myself intellectually, promote my spiritual growth, and develop my leadership skills.…

However, it’s not just graduating high school it’s a stepping stone towards a life-long career. In addition, the first decision high-school graduates must make is whether or not to go to college. Nevertheless, the cost of attendance, course of study, and location are all important factors in choosing between Northeast Lakeview college and the University of Texas San Antonio. National Honor Society Application Essay For any human to exhibit qualities throughout their lifestyle, one must transcend in certain aspects of their nature. Everyone is born with a different character or personality and not everyone exceeds in all of the same categories, however; I would place myself among the four characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and outstanding character as some of the qualities where I excel. I have always been a very studious person, and I take pride in my achievements in the classroom. I was also raised to believe that my best is an A, so when I got my first B it was not something taken lightly. I try to remember that if you put your mind to something, then you can accomplish it, which reminds me of the quote by Mike Farrell, “If you try to do your best there is no failure.”…

So many activities and experiences in my life demonstrate the key ingredients to be an outstanding member of National Honor Society. I love being engaged in school activities, such as band, pep band, gymnastics, vocal jazz, theatre, Swedish club, swimming, French Club, UWM Horn Choir, and I would like to join additional activities if I could. As children, our parents shape our ideas and opinions. When I was a child I thought Texas A&M was the only university my parents would let me attend based on the way they talked about it. I thought that they would not help pay for my college if I went anywhere else. It was not until I was in high school that I realized that Texas A&M was the only university I wanted to attend. I would like to study at Texas A&M to continue my family tradition, for the opportunities it offers after graduation and to be admitted to the dental school with a great education behind me.…

Becoming a nurse was not something I always knew I wanted to do. I knew that I wanted to have a career in the medical field due to the opportunity for innovations in health care and the challenges for improvement. It was not until my mother’s struggle with breast cancer that becoming a nurse became my mission. As a young child at my mom's bedside, I would watch her nurses as they took care of her. To me, they were pillars of compassion, strength, and advocacy that inspired me to pursue nursing.…

When I was younger and as I gradually grown up I had no recollection of a historically black college and university, partially due to that fact that college was not a big topic in my family. Once I entered into a high school, I became more familiar with HBCU, one in particularly Howard University. Howard University has always been my top school since I attended the college fair at my high school. The top three colleges I chose are Hinds Community College, Mississippi State University, and Alcorn State University . Hinds is my first choice because I visited Hinds’ Nursing Allied Health Center on one of my various CDC field trips and I was amazed. I was shown how to be prepared for CPR, how to read the blood pressure machine, and just learn about all the programs they have to offer. I actually did plenty of .research on nursing and I think Hinds is just the place for me .…

I have decided to apply for a membership in the National Honor Society for a multitude of reasons. The program is one of the most highly recognized programs across the nation, and it would be a great honor to be a part of it. This is only one of the many reasons for application. When applying for college, being part of this highly established program, will grab the attention of colleges more so than that of a student, which does not have this program being part of their background. And lastly, the National Honor Society is also based upon the four qualities of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.…

High school came to an end May 15 for me, and I believed college wouldn't be much different, but I wasn't entirely correct. Many things changed which I had to accustom myself to, from living on my own, to making sure I ate correctly, but little did I know that I would have to change my study habits. For as long as I can recall, I have been using the same study habits throughout high school. I believed and was taught to memorize, but I also realized that even though I would pass my test with flying colors, I would find myself forgetting a majority of what I had memorized a month and or a week ago. Now that I am aware that the technique used in high school, will no longer apply in my college years, and years to come.…
