When drone experts, ranchers and farmers hear the word “drone”, they really feel “up in the air.” Did you know that last year the National Agricultural Aviation Administration spent $106,000 lobbying against drones in Congress? Drones are unmanned aerial vehicles and include everything from gliders to military aircraft. The agricultural industry has heard about the use of drones for only three years and a big concern is the legality of using drones. Agricultural people have been very concerned and anxious about the use of drones according to articles read. The purpose of my paper is to provide information about drones replacing crop dusters. Even though Drones should not be allowed to take the place of crop dusters , Crop Duster Drones should not be legal because drones are a danger to other pilots and they could be weaponized and hurt people. Aerial application involves spraying crops with crop protection products from an agricultural aircraft. Planting certain types of seed are also included in aerial application. The specific spreading of fertilizer is also known as aerial topdressing in some countries. There are many risks involved with drones crop-dusting, too many unknowns and dangers, which could have devastating effects, with the end result being people without food to eat. Drones may have a place in society, but my conclusion is that their purpose is not to replace the crop-dusting industry at this time!
