My first college scout was an interesting one. Possibly, one I will remember my entire life. The events that before infuriated me, had no room in my head. The overwhelming sense of pride counter acted the prior sense of anger. The sensational feeling of finally being recognized is one that will last a life time. The tournament started out terrible. My team should have won the first game. We played terribly. We could barely call ourselves a team. We didn’t work together. We didn’t communicate. We talked at half time. Then we changed. We played okay. But we still lost. That was okay because we had another shot in forty five minutes. Now, this second chance we had was completely useless, we again were not a team and we again didn’t communicate and individual …show more content…
It was terrible. I thought nothing good can happen. I thought nothing we can’t move on in the tournament now. If we have players who can’t are playing so bad that they can’t pass a straight ball, then how are we going to get better. The next day of the tournament started out alright. We were in second place because of goal differential. Then, the events of yesterday replayed. They scored three goals in the first half. We scored none. And as it happened yesterday we weren’t a team, we didn’t talk, we didn’t communicate, we had a bad referee, and our coach got mad. I felt as though my job the entire tournament was to keep the team together. As the central player and captain I had to be an example. In those three games I worked my butt off to do my job. My job of keeping the team together and to be an example. Since, my team failed I felt that I had failed. I wasn’t able to fulfill my job, even though those three games had been my best since my injury. Even though I played well, I had failed. My coach doesn’t mention that I

The court was quiet, we lacked motivation but maintained a lead for most of the match but only by a point or two. It felt like we put in as much energy as needed to pull off a win. But with that said, we still had some great moments in the court. Claire Caldera and Allie Eveleth have gotten stronger in their attacks. Janae Roberson has begun to be a forceful blocker in the middle and our setters, Grace and Julian, continue to push our offense to be better with each match.…

The chase begins. The poachers begin to gain on the unaware pod of blackfish. The poachers are ready for their foes; their faces vacuums of emotion, only cold and calculating. The poachers creep closer, a chase worthy of a proper soundtrack. Blackfish are swimming frantically with fear in their eyes as the predators ready their nets.…

I plopped myself on the schoolyard, rethinking what just erupted in Miss. Caroline's class. All those kids lookin' at me, Miss. Caroline's eyes out of her head, and Scout blabbin' my history away. Out of the corner of my eye I see Scout walkin' over with a slight smirk on her face, like she'd just won three bucks.…

Every team hopes to take home the trophy, but individual players hope to leave their best impressions on the ice. All things considered, today was, to abridge, tiring. What's more, miserable. I stay here, writing in this diary at the foot of Jem's bed, viewing over him as he dozes, his rest gradually helping his arm to recuperate, now that Dr. Reynolds has gauzed it. Thinking back judiciously and sensibly, I feel no lament for my activities - in helping Tom Robinson, or in the way I've brought up my youngsters - I just feel an unfolding compassion and disillusionment for the man who had, looking in context, began this entire emergency.…

I was sitting in the living room listening to my radio until all the sudden I heard the gate opening in my backyard and so I turned my radio off to listen to the noise outback. I heard lots of whispers coming from the porch I thought it was someone trying to rob me. I grabbed my shotgun and ran out the door and fired a warning shot and I think I scared the pants off the people because they bolted out of my yard and just kept running. I tried to see who it was but it was to dark to see them I was sure everyone in the neighborhood was inspecting a reason on why I shot my gun off…

At some point in every person's life, they will have a special experience that will stick with them forever. One of my most memorable moments happened recently at a home volleyball game against Traverse City West. Approaching freshman volleyball season, the upperclassman spoke highly of the importance of overpowering TC West. As a ninth grader, I had the mindset that I would be playing for the freshmen team. I didn't think it really mattered what the outcome of the game would be, since we were only ninth graders.…

    2. I strongly dislike the way the teacher acted in the scene where she would not listen to Scout. That was really rude, and the teacher just kept rambling on even though she didn’t know the truth. This was the scene where Miss Caroline was talking to Walter Cunningham because he didn’t have a lunch. Since he didn’t have a lunch, Miss Caroline offered to give him a nickel as long as he brought one tomorrow to pay her back.…

So we prayed and the game started and we played nervously. My captain, Melissa dribbled down the court, looked to pass, and took the shot but missed it. Michelle also missed her fast-break lay up, and I missed my free throw. At the end of Quarter 2, it was like playing football because the scoreboard only shows 2 for Ipeka Tomang (my school) and 3 for Yadika. That indicates how much we are struggling the whole quarter never really score but a constant battle between getting and loosing the ball.…
