Personal Narrative Essay: The Last Game Of High School Football

This was the very last game of the season. Mona Shores was ranked number two in the state and reporters were already projecting us to lose. All season we anticipated this game. Although some feared it, many could not wait to prove the critics wrong. This game was a must win for us because it determined whether we would advance to the playoffs. I have never experienced a game with as much emotion as this one.
Taking that walk from the locker room to the stadium gave you a feeling only a football player could ever feel. The determination, focus, and also a lot of nervousness flooded through our minds. This time, it could

Seeing some of the toughest people I have ever met weep and tremble made me realize how much football meant to us. It all started when we were kids and now we just completed our last high school football game. Playing with one another over several years creates a bond that can never be broken. All those two a day practices, waking up for morning lifting, and devoting your whole life to football, makes that bond even stronger because all of us see how much of our lives we sacrificed for the team. All the conditioning and drills during practice would have us on the ground screaming trying to find air, yet no one ever quit. No one ever gave up. We only pushed each other to limits we never thought we could reach. In that locker room that night, those were not just my teammates, they were my family. Not a day goes by where I do not think about my teammates and memories we made. Those Friday nights will always be my favorite

Everyone knows that football players enjoy playing football, but what most people do not know is the reasons why. A football team is like a family you have when you are away from your family. When you need someone to lean on there is a coach, a player or even an academic advisor around to help you through your hard times. For my essay I will talk about my family, the James Madison Football team as well as our values and beliefs that shapes the culture of this organization .The football team here at James Madison University has been built on a rich tradition of excellence and has a culture like no other.…

Looking back on these days they were tough. Every night before practice was over we ran killers and I also had to review plays for my new position as running back. To put this game in my eyes this was huge if you were to ask another player they would have said differently. If we were to win this game this would help us forget our last season with a losing record of 1-7 and I think this helped motivate me for this game. This has been rolling over and over in my mind for the past couple days and I half to admit I was pretty pumped and ready…

At some point in every person's life, they will have a special experience that will stick with them forever. One of my most memorable moments happened recently at a home volleyball game against Traverse City West. Approaching freshman volleyball season, the upperclassman spoke highly of the importance of overpowering TC West. As a ninth grader, I had the mindset that I would be playing for the freshmen team. I didn't think it really mattered what the outcome of the game would be, since we were only ninth graders.…
