Personal Narrative: The Fear Of Falling Apart

Improved Essays
“The fear of falling apart”, “Words are knives and often leave scars”, and “Don’t try to sleep through the end of the world and bury me alive. Cause’ I won’t give up without a fight” by Panic! At The Disco from their song This is Gospel is very important to me because it’s like saying no matter how hard you push and pull on me I won’t give up and that’s really encouraging to me.

The way I can apply it to my life is I was bullied, cursed at, and yelled at all throughout middle school by other students and no matter how hard I wanted to give up and just crawl into bed and say “No, go away.” My dad got me through and when I heard this song about a year ago it spoke to me. It was everything I needed.

After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

My favorite song is Humble and Kind by Tim Mcgraw its topic is pushes out is to be Humble and Kind to all people. Humble and Kind by Tim Mcgraw explains to treat everybody with kindness and to be humble cause you will regret when you are older if you weren’t. In the song Tim Mcgraw says “Always stay humble and kind” what this line to me is that you need to be humble and kind no matter who you are because people notice that and being a good person can help you in anything. When Tim Mcgraw says “Don't take for granted the love this life gives you” this means that you may be given god given things or may not be but do not take advantage for what you get. Because it does not matter how much you receive it matter what you do with what you do receive.…

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

It is the morning of July 4th, 2008: I groan as my mother gently whispers, “teneshi yene mar (Get up honey)”. Struggling I open my eyes and notice the trembling cabin, I turn to my mother with a look of concern and she reaches out her hand and squeezes my own looking up at me, “we are going to be okay Mar”. A couple of moments later our plane has landed, we gather up our belongings and make our way towards the exit filled with people attached to their screens and MP3 players. The airport is filled with an undercurrent of anticipation, impatience, and boredom; bodies scramble back and forth from one gate to another. My mother, attempting to balance three children, clasps my hand, holds my little brother to her waist and calls back to my older…
