Personal Narrative: New Mexico

I was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico and I moved to Jacksonville, Florida. This was a challenging time in my life because I had to get used to Florida's environment , its culture, and its people. New Mexico's environment is dry and hot. When you stand outside you can fee the sun beam on your skin, an the surrounding air is warm. There's mountains and desert landscapes. You can see these tall mountains throughout the whole city. And while you are driving throughout the city you see golden brown sand , cacti and even the occasional roadrunner. The majority of people in New Mexico have a Mexican background. Most places you go you will hear someone speaking spanish , or hear aye ayeee in a mariachi song. Florida's weather is moist and hot. When I first got there I could feel the heavy humidity in the air making my skin feel moist and sticky. There's lots of woods, beaches and the city is big. When you're driving around you see armadillos,, lots of tall green trees , and tons of tall concrete bridges. There's a lot more African Americans and Puetro Ricans and Cubans here. This creates a cultural difference. You see a lot of people with grillz in their mouth, hair that stands on their heads, and people who have in braids or weave. Some of the things that I didn't want to leave in New Mexico was my best friend at the time , my cousins , and just the whole state itself. When I was leaving we drove there and my closest cousin came with me. And because my cousin was with me I wasn't too lone or bored. When we got to Jacksonville I saw things from a tourist's point of view because everything was new to me. But I wasn't too excited about exploring the city because I didn't want to be there. I had to get used to the humidity sticking to my skin. Then when my cousin left it was time for school. I felt nervous about going to the 7th grade because I didn't know anyone in the
