Typically, within the business courses I’ve taken at The University of Washington Bothell, the format has been predetermined for us: Lecture, midterm, lecture, final. Throughout my life, I had grown up as the ‘skinny kid.’ Playing soccer, I was pushed around and made fun of for as long as I could remember. Upon graduating high school, I was 5’7, 105 lbs., and wanted to make a change. For three years I worked hard inside and outside the gym. I constantly learned new ways to eat healthy and to put on muscle. I quickly jumped up to 130 lbs. in no time! However, as my senior year of college hit, I became stagnant. The stress of upper level courses, job hunting, and family matters crowded my life, and I was not able to work out consistently or eat properly. It was when Dr. Boss gave us the time we needed to make this happen that I knew my goal was to reconnect with my previous lifestyle and truly achieve a healthier lifestyle for myself. To me, a healthier lifestyle will be achieved in two ways: by implementing a fitness plan and creating and following through with a healthy diet.
