Personal Narrative Essay: The Joy Of Amusement Parks

Imagine this, you are standing in line to the world’s largest roller coaster. Your stomach is tying itself in knots just watching other people go up and down, back and forth, and upside down. You can hear them shrieking with every loop in the ride and you cannot wait to experience it for yourself. The want to get the endorphins rushing through your body, it is a natural high. This roller coaster is only an example of one way to get that natural high. For me, I search for anything crazy to allow those endorphins to rush through my body. My favorite things to do are riding large park rides, rock climbing, and flyboarding, because they let me experience the high of life without doing drugs. Whether it is climbing an actual cliff or simply getting hooked up on a climbing wall, it is pure pleasure. The simple rock wall is where my joy for this started. My family went to the fair and they had one set up, the little indomitable me was begging to try it out. As soon as my dad paid, I was getting all set up. As quickly as I could, I made my way up the “easy” section of the wall. The concentration and reliability on the placement of my hands and feet made me feel invincible. I reached the top of the wall and hit the red button with excitement. When I propelled down the wall I immediately went to try the next difficulty. Which was even better, my heart thumped and endorphins were surging through my body. I was on cloud nine and could not wait to experience this again. Now rock climbing is something I do in my free time or when I visit family in Colorado we get to climb a veritable cliff. Even though the rock wall is pretty cool, it is nothing compared to an actual rock climbing experience. I can go so much higher and find my own footings. The thing that really gets the blood pumping is that at any moment the footing I have could give out and I could slip quite aways before my rope catches. It may seem scary to others, but to me it is the most fascinating feeling in the
