Throughout my childhood, the passion for sports has been on full display. Many of my friends and family often call me a sports fanatic, as usually almost every day, I watch the latest Sports Center or replays of classic sporting events. However, during this time, I have come to appreciate a sport a lot more than I used to, and that is softball. Often during the summer, I can be seen in Webster, NY, watching my sister play softball for The Webster Xtreme Softball Organization. She has become a great player and has been ranked the number one player in the organization for the past couple of years. But, her accomplishments actually impacted me, as I was offered a coaching position by her coach, Bill Boulter. One day, I was sitting on the bleachers watching my sisters

My accomplishment has also come with a few bumps in the road, such as having an 0-3 day at the plate or making many errors in the field may push the girls to their emotional limits. But, the thrill of a championship win seems to make the road smooth as silk, as I have experienced this feeling with this team. I have won three championships in two years. I also visited Softball Nationals in York, PA this summer and watched my sister and her team go up against some of the best softball teams on the east coast. When the season is usually over, many would think that we would not keep in touch. However, it has been the complete opposite, as our team tries to have offseason workouts and events to keep softball in the minds of the girls as they start school in the fall. The constant work of being a coach becomes stressful. However, the thrill of seeing smiles on all of the girl’s faces takes away that stress and makes me feel as if I had done something good in the lives of these
