According to Huffington Post, John Hopkins Children Center, Baltimore, Maryland is one of the most prestigious hospitals in the profession I would like to pursue. Furthermore John Hopkins Children Center was the birthplace of academic pediatrics more than a century ago. A personal experience of mine is when my brother had appendicitis and I was at the hospital to support him. While I was there I saw this little boy with Down syndrome without any parents. He was getting an IV, screaming and crying. I went up to him and grabbed his hand and told him everything is going to be alright. That seemed to calm him down. This made me realize I want to become a pediatrician and give better lives to kids in need. Working in Baltimore would present many
