When classes resumed that fall, I used my position as president of the ophthalmology interest group to offer retinal screenings along with the
Hispanic community outreach group at a local Spanish speaking health fair. My dedication to working hard and exploring the field of ophthalmology has led me to multiple fascinating experiences throughout my third year of medical education, including assisting with vitrectomies and scleral buckling surgeries during my surgical rotation and the unique opportunity to participate in the care of pediatric ocular trauma. I intend to carry that dedication forward through my fourth year and residency by continuously working to improve my clinical knowledge and the quality of my work.
These experiences afforded me insight into what ophthalmology has to offer and prepared me to pursue a residency program in the field.
Now I am looking to work with a group of talented and diverse ophthalmologists and residents who share my passion for the field as well as compassion for the patients. Throughout my residency I will hone my skills and take advantage of the resources available at
