contrast and compare essay In the book of Hamlet, there are 2 women has similarities and they also have differents, contrasting role in the book.They are Gertrude and Ophelia, Ophelia, a naive and foolish girl who deeply loves Hamlet. As Ophelia said in the Act 1 scene 3 "He hath, my lord, of late made many tenders of his affection to me"(http://www.shakespeare-online.com/plays/hamlet_1_3.html) She thinks Hamlet loves her too, but she doesn;t know Hamlet just using her. Gertrude, Hamlet's mother and she married with Hamlet's uncle(his dad's brother) after Hamlet's father died.Gertrude Loves Hamlet so much, always doing right thing for Hamlet and take care of Hamlet. But Hamlet hates Gertrude,He think his mother as a whore beacuse of the marriage after her husband died. They have one big same point, thoese 2 women all love Hamlet,the different is how they love Hamlet and what kind of the love they have to Hamlet. …show more content…
Ophelia is Hamlet's lover. Hamlet loves her, but He is a humanist who always strugle between dream and real life, or between survival and destruction. So it misleads he starting ignore love from Ophelia and using her as a tool to finish his revenge. In the Act I scene 3 Ophilia said "I shall obey, my lord."(http://www.shakespeare-online.com/plays/hamlet_1_3.html)It shows how follish she is, even her father and brothers all agianst with it. Finally Ophelia suicide beacuse Hamlet killed her father. Gertrude loves Hamlet so much. Even Hamlet treat her so bad, for example, Hamlet blame Gertrude is not loyal to his father, Gertrude just Self-review and not say anthing about it. Thus she can be seen as a kind and humble mother. In the end, After Hamlet won the sword battle with Leo Tis, She died beacuse She drank the Poisoned wine( It prepared for Hamlet).
