Electrolytes are what helps, mainly athletes keep a high amount of energy during any type of physical activity. Many liquids such as water are important because of hydration, but does not contain any type of electrolytes. Therefore water doesn’t help someone involved in physical activity increase energy. There are many different solutions to electrolytes, and if an athlete has an imbalance of too many electrolytes can cause health problems for the future. Just drinking the product itself can cause major deficiencies in the future.
