Neighborhood 3 is a game which is played by the children in the play. The main objective of the game is to kill the Zombies which pretty much looked like the parents. Vicki makes a secret meeting with Kaitlyn . The quote, “ you know/even though/we got him that hummer/tyler’s grades took a downturn/when you split up” (Haley 36). The above quote tells that vicki is not much aware of her kid and thinks the problem with Tyler is because of the split between him and Kaitlyn. Vicki does not realize her mistake until Kaitlyn replies that Tyler never spent much time with her and he is much deceived to the Neighborhood game when when Kaitlyn was present with him.. The quote “ it was strange to see his room/i haven’t seen it in months/we bought that bed/when he was five years old/one morning i went in / and his feet were poking/ off the end / and they were/ hairy / i said it was time / for a new bed/ but that was when he sealed off the room / and like i said / i want to give him/ a place of his own/ to be himself/ isn’t that good /i’m not the kind of person /to read her son’s diary/ if boys really keep diaries/maybe he has a/what is a called/ a blog/ even if it was online/i wouldn’t read it / not that i’m too savvy/ with the internet/he’s playing that/ game now/ that takes up/ all his time/ when he’s not out with his/ friends/ or whoever /he goes out with/ i’m just trying to/ something’s different/ do you think/ gosh/ do you think it’s/ drugs “ (Haley 37). Vicky is paying attention to things that don’t matter. For example, when she goes in his room she notices that “his feet were poking/ off the end” of the bed, but she does not notice how he his spending his time and that he has been playing Neighborhood 3. Something about how this shows Vicky to be like a zombie herself. This quote clearly show that Vicki analyzed Tyler’s behavior although she claims that she never entered his room nor read his diary. She thinks Tyler is taking drugs as he his behavior changed as he started playing

A quote from the book to support this idea is, “You should come out to get to know our neighborhood. Some of these places have been here for-what?-four years now and you’ve never set foot in them. For someone who loves her community so much, you sure don’t support it” (Watson 62). This quote shows the theme developing because the main character is very close minded when it comes to the change in her community. However, her sister points it out to her that she can’t claim to support the community, but not shop at any of the new stores or go to any of the new things that have been added.…
