The best leaders are the ones who can wield a variety of strategies. In doing so a leader can become multi-dimensional and successful motivate and lead their team in solving complex problems. Leaders who only use one style of communication will quickly become stagnant and ineffective. In the same way a leader who consistently relies on only one mode of communication will not be able to properly express their point of view and their voice. Anytime that a leader is communicating with their team they must decide how what is the ultimate goal of what they are trying to communicate. They must communicate in a way that is not only efficient, but is also effective. Far too often leaders will try to only be efficient or effective with their communication. A strong leader will find the mode and style of communication that is both. Face to face communication is generally more effective because nothing can be lost in the text. Their message is taken at face value. This being said face to face communication is not always efficient. A leader must use face to face communication only when it is necessary. For less personal messages a leader can use email, text, instant message, memos, and a variety of other modes.
