There’s always more than one path to your destination:
Mike’s ultimate goal is to become a scarer and he personally believes that to get there he has to be admitted to Monster’s University.
He becomes extremely sad and broken down when Dean breaks his dream by terminating him from the university due to him not being a “scary”, however, he is still positive by remaining to follow a different path to his goal
Sullivan has some contribution to this by them getting into an argument and breaking Dean’s pride cylinder, thus creating a scene in front of all the monster; as a result, Sullivan is also kicked out for the incorrect “scare” technique to Dean’s question.

In a connection, this can be seen when in life you have to follow your own strengths and passions rather than to hop on other ideas from people that may be surrounded by you.
This may not make the best of you as an individual and face many long-terms problems
You’ll get by with a little help from your friends.
Friends are crucial when you pick the right ones, Mike and Sullivan are both terminated from continuing the scare program at Monster’s University. They try their best to get back in by immediately finding friends.
They recruit friends for the scare games and with their help, they noticed how important it is to have for support.
In life, good-chosen friends bring you up (positively), trust you, listen to your ideas, and push you to success, it's important to recognize these friends and to start admiring them for being there for you.
All Actions Have Consequences:
An action could be seen when Sullivan cheats in the scare game of altering the system’s “scaring volume” by adjusting the setting to high.
The consequence that was led by this action was Mike proving that he is better and so he walks into that unauthorized door to enter the actual world where humans are
