Medieval Vikings

The vikings are so called seafaring Scandinavians who were one of the most feared men of the medieval times. They have been feared warriors sense there first appearance at the end of the 8th century B.C. They were known for coming from the sea and attacking their target. However they were often portrayed as wild “barbarians” who would kill for fun.

That was not the case. Yes, they did raid many different countries, but they were also very well traders. There economic structure stretched from Iraq to Canada. They were also very well pathfinders, as they were the first to discover america. They were also good craftsmen, known for their metalwork and they're well made ships that allowed them to sail the seas faster than any other ship at the time. Their ships were advanced for their time. Their viking “warships” were slim and long with a massive sail. This allowed them to sailed high over the waves and even up rivers. Their ships permitted them to engage in voyages of trading, raiding and exploration. Way back then there was of course no compasses or any sorts of navigation devices, so they had to learn to use information from their senses like wind, weather, wildlife and solar time to know which way they were
