That was not the case. Yes, they did raid many different countries, but they were also very well traders. There economic structure stretched from Iraq to Canada. They were also very well pathfinders, as they were the first to discover america. They were also good craftsmen, known for their metalwork and they're well made ships that allowed them to sail the seas faster than any other ship at the time.
