Curie gained a job in 1833 of a governess or private teacher. Although she became lonely wanting to go to a university. This however, was very unlikely because of the time she lived in as a young adult. So she went to go live with her sister in Paris who was attending a university in medicine. Then Marie enrolled in classes in Physics. Also she wanted to find a laboratory to research different metals. At this time she met her husband Pierre Curie. In 1895 Marie and Pierre got married,now beginning one of the most extraordinary partnership in scientific work. Later in 1897, Curie's scientific achievements were two university degrees, a fellowship (a scholarship), and a monograph (published paper) on the magnetization of tempered steel.
