Manual transmission has many perks, and even the disadvantages can still be turned into advantages. Manual transmission, or stick shift, provides luxuries such as nicer cars, cheaper prices, and joy, but it also provides the driver with necessities such as enhanced focus and more control. Although manual has a few disadvantages to automatic transmission, the atvantages for the driver out number the disadvantages by far. Even if the driver cannot decide between manual and automatic they have a mixed option of dual clutch. Manual cars are easier to make because every car needs the same gears. Automatic vehicles are made from a manual transmission with added electronics and parts, so the gears will shift on their own. A manual car is also cheaper because the driver can control when to switch gears saving fuel, by not pushing the current gear ratio to hard. Since there are fewer parts in a stick shift car, it costs considerably less to have it repaired. This skill will provide the driver an abundance of control over the vehicle. With more control over the vehicle, the driver and people around the driver will be safer. Having more control over the car comes at a toll. The driver has to maintain better focus while driving. The additional focus is not a bad factor at all. Since there is more focus need, there is no time for the use of a cellular device. Also, one hand has to be on the gear shift almost all the time so the driver does not even have a free hand to use a phone
